About TrueUpAudit
TrueUpAudit exists for one moment: a small contractor opens a workers' comp audit bill that's thousands more than expected and has no idea whether it's right.
What we do
We publish free calculators and plain-English guides that explain how premium audits work, where surprise charges usually come from, and what a clear, well-documented dispute looks like. Our tools run entirely in your browser; we don't see the numbers you type into them.
We're also building an audit error check that reads your audit worksheet and flags items worth verifying, such as subcontractor charges, overtime, and class placement. Join the waitlist to hear when it's ready.
What we don't do
- We are not an insurance agency and don't sell, quote, or place insurance.
- We are not a law firm and don't give legal advice.
- We are not insurance consultants and don't advise you on your coverage.
- We don't contact your carrier or dispute anything on your behalf. You stay in control of your own audit and any dispute you choose to file.
- We don't guarantee any outcome. Carriers and states apply their own rules.
If your situation is complicated or the amount at stake is large, talk to your insurance agent or broker, a CPA, or an attorney licensed in your state.
How we write our guides
- We cite the source for state and bureau rules, such as NCCI, the California WCIRB, and State Fund's published audit guide, and link to them so you can check.
- We don't publish made-up statistics or "average refund" claims.
- We describe rules in our own words and point you to the official source rather than copying it.
- When rules differ by state or carrier, we say so.
